Homemade Cat Treats
Making homemade cat treats can be an enjoyable experience for both those who like making all their cat’s food and cat owners who typically use commercial cat food. Many recipes for homemade cat treats are quick and easy.
Recipes for homemade cat treats can be found by using a search engine. A cat owner may be able to find a recipe collecting ingredients that they already have in the house.
One quick and easy recipe for homemade cat treats is for a type of cat treat called fishy cat treats. The cat owner has the option of including either canned salmon, tuna, or mackerel in this recipe.
The cat owners should crumble a can of tuna or one third cup of canned salmon or canned mackerel into a bowl. One cup of dried, plain breadcrumbs, one tablespoon vegetable oil, and one large beaten egg should be added to the fish. Next, all the ingredients in the bowl should be mixed.
Small spoonfuls of the mixture should be dropped onto a baking sheet that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. The cat treats should be baked for about eight minutes or until lightly browned in a 350 degree oven.
After baking, the fishy cat treats can be placed on a wire rack or clean kitchen towel to cool completely. After the treats are completely cool, they can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and given to the cat.
Different ingredients could be used in this recipe. Some cats are not fond of fish. The cat owner may want to try using canned chicken instead of canned fish. The recipe can be followed in the same way.
This recipe may work well with ground beef that is cooked before added to the rest the ingredients. Why not turn this into a recipe for veggie cat treats by using shredded carrots and finely chopped, cooked vegetables instead of meat?
Homemade cat treat recipes should not include anything that could be harmful to cats. Some experts recommend refraining from giving the cat food that contains canned tuna every day. Therefore, if a cat owner uses tuna in this recipe, it may be a good idea to alternate with other meat ingredients.
